Terms of use

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Natalia Sirichenko, the individual developer of Kynosis (“we”), for the Kynosis app, the web app at app.kynosis.com and the related services. By using Kynosis you accept them. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ for your use of the iOS app, these terms add to it.

Your account

You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

Your content

What you save stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it, sync it, process it to make tags, summaries, transcripts and answers, and show it back to you. Save only what you have the right to keep. Do not use Kynosis to store or share illegal content, malware or material that infringes someone else’s rights, and do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

What you save is private to you; Kynosis does not publish it. To report content you believe is illegal, or that infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] with the link or item and why — this is also our point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act, for users and authorities, in English. We act on valid notices and tell you what we decided.

Plans, subscriptions and trials

• Core is free. Kynosis Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed yearly or monthly at the price shown before you confirm: through your Apple ID in the iPhone app, or through Google Play in the Android app, or on the web through our payment provider Paddle.
• The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it where you bought it: Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions for the App Store, Google Play › Subscriptions, or the link in your Paddle receipt (also on the account page of the web app).
• If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Payments and refunds are handled by the store where you bought. App Store: Apple, under its rules; request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play: Google, under its rules. Web: Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”) is the seller of record, charges and refunds the payment and issues the invoice; Paddle’s buyer terms apply, and our refund policy says how to ask. If you are a consumer in the EU you have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days; because Pro is a digital service that starts as soon as you buy it, that right is lost for the part already used. Apple’s terms explain how to use it.
• Kynosis Cloud (sync, the web app and 20 GB of storage) is part of Pro. On Core your saves stay on your iPhone.
• If a renewal payment fails, Pro keeps working during Apple’s billing grace period while Apple retries the charge.
• If Pro ends, everything on your iPhone stays, including what Pro already made. Your cloud copy stays readable for 30 days so you can download it to your iPhone (You › Storage), then it is erased.

The assistant

The assistant, automatic tags, summaries and the weekly digest are part of Kynosis Pro. Tags, summaries, transcripts and answers are generated automatically by AI models and can be wrong or incomplete. They cite the saves they read so you can check them; do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other professional decisions.

Experiments

Some features are marked as experiments (You › Preferences › Experiments). They are off until you turn them on, may change or be removed, and may not work on every page or device.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Kynosis available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” and may change or be interrupted. If we ever shut Kynosis down, we will give at least 60 days’ notice so you can export your archive.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where we can, we will tell you first and let you export your data.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss. If you are a consumer, you also keep all rights consumer law gives you.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any product or intellectual-property claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction, without taking away the protection of the law of the country you live in if you are a consumer. Questions: [email protected].
